Gideon Hearth

Privacy

A plain-language draft, awaiting legal review before launch.

Hearth never receives your payroll records. Everything you enter — your household, your employee’s name, address and Social Security number, every payday — is saved in your browser’s storage on this device. It is not sent to Gideon or anyone else.

That has two consequences. Nobody can take your records from us, because we do not have them. And nobody can restore them for you: if you clear this browser’s data or lose the device, they are gone unless you kept a backup. Hearth reminds you to download one, and the file is yours to store wherever you keep tax records.

Anyone who can use this browser profile can open Hearth and see what it holds. On a shared computer, use a separate browser profile, and delete the records from Your data when you are done.

When you buy. Payment is handled by our payment processor, which receives your name, email and card details, and we receive your name, email and the license we issue. We use them to send your license and receipt and to answer you, and for nothing else.

No tracking. Hearth sets no advertising or analytics cookies and loads no third-party scripts.
